Under Mississauga's Private Tree Protection By-law 0021-2022, as amended, a permit is required to injure, destroy or remove a private tree 15 cm or greater in diameter, one of the lower thresholds in the GTA. This includes dead or dying qualifying trees, though no permit fee applies in that case.
